  • Who can enroll in Shamsaha's Global Women's Crisis Advocacy Training?

    To enroll, you must -be a woman -be 21 years or older -able to complete 20 hours of the self-paced training course -able to attend 4 days of online training (weekends) with the camera on at all times. Shamsaha reserves the right to remove any trainees from the course or prevent them from volunteering if the aforementioned policies and conditions are violated. The course fee will not be refunded.

  • Will I receive a certificate?

    Upon the completion of 40-hours of training and meeting additional requirements as outlined in the training platform, a certificate will be issued.

  • What is the role of a Women's Crisis Advocate?

    Shamsaha women's crisis advocates are NACP-certified volunteers who are available on Shamsaha's 24/7 helpline app to provide: -safety planning -empathetic support and validation -trauma-informed compassion -solution-based empowerment -information to guide decision-making -referrals to community resources.

  • How can a Women's Crisis Advocate help?

    Women's Crisis Advocates -create a safety plan with the client -support clients to identify and prioritize goals -empower and validate feelings -provide support to help clients make informed decisions -connect clients with community resources

  • How are Women's Crisis Advocates trained?

    -40 hours of NACP-approved training -over 4 hours of practical training (in the self-paced and live online) -regular continued education opportunities -frequent refresher training sessions -round-the-clock access to learning resources and experienced advocates
